الدرس 04: الجمل الشرطية بأنواعها وقاعدة Unless (Conditionals 0, 1, 2, 3 & Unless)

1. The Four Conditional Types (أنواع الشرط الأربعة)

تحدد العلاقة بين شطر الشرط (If-clause) وشطر النتيجة (Main clause) الأزمنة المستخدمة بدقة:

النوع 0: الحقائق العلمية والثوابت الطبيعية (Type 0 - General Truths):

• If water reaches 100°C, it boils.
• If you heat ice, it melts.

النوع 1: الحالات الممكنة والمحتملة مستقبلاً (Type 1 - Real Future Possibility):

• If he studies conscientiously, he will pass his examination.
• If businesses adopt ethical standards, consumer confidence will rise.

النوع 2: الحالات التخيلية أو غير الواقعية في الحاضر (Type 2 - Unreal / Hypothetical):

• If I had sufficient capital, I would invest in green solar energy.
• If he were the general manager, he would combat all unethical practices.

النوع 3: الندم والمستحيل في الماضي (Type 3 - Unreal Past / Regret):

• If she had revised her lessons regularly, she would have succeeded.
• If authorities had installed safety filters, the pollution leak would not have occurred.

2. The Golden Rule of "Unless" (قاعدة Unless في البكالوريا)

قاعدة التحويل الشهيرة في سؤال (Rewrite Sentence B so that it means the same as Sentence A):

خطوات التحويل من (If ... not) إلى (Unless):

1. نحذف كلمة If.
2. نحذف أداة النفي المساعدة (don't / doesn't / didn't).
3. نضع الفعل في صيغة الإثبات المناسبة لفاعله وزمنه:
   • If you don't revise... → Unless you revise...
   • If he doesn't respect... → Unless he respects... (نضيف s للغائب)
   • If they didn't study... → Unless they studied... (نحوّل للماضي)
4. شطر النتيجة (Main Clause) يبقى دون تغيير إذا أردنا الحفاظ على المعنى الأصلي.
